I've spent the past 15 years photographing cities in the morning blue hour, from which my book project "Cities at Dawn" developed.
Recently, I moved to the coast of Southern Spain and was still rising very early in the morning, but this time to be met with a view of simplicity and colour, not the complexity and maze-like wonder of the city, but with the pureness of sky and sea.
I didn’t take me but a moment to see the potential in translating the feelings I was having in the presence of nature in its simplest form - two elements of the utmost purity. Sea and sky. Yet every morning was a new view for a new day. New colours. New textures. New horizons.
I call the project Sea Meditations as, after decades of cities, this was a profound change for me.
For me, photography has always been a process of reduction - if you can make it simple then it is more improved is my belief. In this setting, by the sea, there was nothing to remove - it was just about time and its passing. Each day from the same spot I shot. No variables. Just time passing, day by day.
The Sea Meditations collection are prints created to be stared at; for one to find inner peace, and a connection with the environments it is contained within.

I don't tell many people this but way before I became a photographic artist I was an expert printer. It all started with my love of the Black and White print and "evolved" into my love for colour images. (I have a degree in Colour Theory)
I printed in Los Angeles for Dave Lachapelle, Ellen Von Unwerth among others. I even got to personally create a colour print run for Helmut Newton one sunny and stressful LA afternoon - that was a nerve wracking moment, but everyone finished the day well satisfied with some fine photography and gorgeous prints.
The reason I mention all this experience is that I know what it takes to make a photograph into a brilliant print and that is why I chose The Print Space in East London as my lab of choice.
They are the best around. Bar none.
They have a wide selection of papers to choose from but for my work I prefer to make that paper choice for you. As I feel that from experience I know what works best for my images.
All my work is printed to my exacting standards and handled in a most professional manner.
My paper of choice is the C-type Fuji Matt Crystal Archive for prints that benefit from accurate colour and contrast and a genuine photographic feel. This is semi-sheen/satin finish paper with an GSM of 231 and a smooth surface.
For my monochrome and bi-chrome prints I love the Kodak C-type Metallic paper This is a medium gloss photographic paper that has gorgeous black and shadow detail while boosting tonal saturation and contrast on a metallic silver base for amazing depth. Very nice!
Each print is archival and is packaged in archival materials. This prevents any type of long term fading.
As the final part of the art creation process I would like to say that I would very much like to help you with the framing of your limited edition print. There are two framers in London I work with that create bespoke frames for my work.

We print on Fuji Matt professional photographic paper, which is archivally certified by museums worldwide.
